Family Members arrived in Chicago for the 2024 reunion that was held at the Marriott Hotel in Oak Brook, Illinois.  More than 464 members of this extraordinary family registered to attend this gathering.  The final count of attendees was 412 which is an astounding number.   

Kudos to Chicago/Detroit Cousins for extending welcomes to us with events for all age groups.  There was music, food, games and the opportunity to visit the South Shore Center in Chicago for the picnic. To close out the reunion, Sunday's brunch at the Marriott was appetizing.  During the program, each of the planning committee was presented a plaque of appreciation for the hard work to ensure attendees had an enjoyable time.  Mrs. Bernice Richmond was presented a gift as the oldest family member.  For family members who passed away since 2022, a video created by Maxine Cunningham was shown that honored their lives.

Cousin Mehlanie Spears was the featured speakers who provided insight on the importance of the Danzy Family history and encouraged everyone, especially the younger generations to become more involved by learning everything available about our ancestors.  The Danzy Southern Family Club accepted to host the 2026 reunion that will be held in Atlanta, Georgia during the second weekend in July.
